On this day in 1776, the newly formed Second Continental Congress formally voted and adopted the resolution for independence from Great Britain. This day is mostly forgotten as the date of July 4th is the preferred day.

Thought of the Day:
“Those who won our independence believed liberty to be the secret of happiness and courage to be the secret of liberty.” – Louis D. Brandeis, former Associate of the Supreme Court

Have a great Independence Day week!
