The Sundance Film Festival started on January 19 and will last until the 29th in our very own Park City. Not only will the streets be
filled with celebrities and locals alike, Sundance is a great boost for Utah’s
economy. The University of Utah’s Bureau of Economic and Business Research at
the David Eccles School of Business did a study on the economic impact of the
Sundance Film Festival. They found that last year the festival generated $70.8
million for the state, it also supported more than 1,600 jobs and produced $27
million in publicity, and $6 million in tax revenue.
