Utah's Canyon Country!

Utah’s Canyon Country was named as having one of Budget Travel’s 5 Classic American Drives. The sites specifically mentioned were Canyonlands National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park, and Bryce Canyon. Plan your mini road trip from Dead Horse Point to Bryce Canyon and log 287 miles of gorgeous Utah views!

This baby lamb pictured with her Mama is named Irene Hope. She was born at the Central Park Zoo in New York City as Hurricane Irene approached and the city was hopeful for minimal damage and a good outcome.

Where are the jobs?!

CNNMoney has answered the question on nearly everyone’s mind, “Where are the jobs?” Out of 25 counties in the United States, Utah County came in at number 8, with a special emphasis on American Fork, Lindon, and Provo. With a job growth of 47.1% between 2000 and 2010, along with major companies like the National Security Agency and Overstock.com making homes here, this really is the place!

Utah's Best!

Five Utah cities made it into America’s Best Places to Live 2011! Farmington came in at number 12, North Salt Lake was 23, number 63 went to North Logan, 81 was Lindon, and finally, Draper was 85 on the list! To Infinity and Beyond!

Of the top 10 strangest objects sent into space, our favorites are: Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber, a Buzz Lightyear action figure, and James Dahoon’s ashes. The late actor who played Scotty on the original Star Trek television series requested that his ashes be sent into the final frontier!

Pioneer Day!

In honor of Pioneer Day, I thought I'd share a recent experience. On my way back from St. George, I stopped at Cove Fort. It's located on I-15 just north of the I-70 turnoff to Denver. It's a really cool restored fort that was built in 1867 to help travelers heading from Salt Lake to Southern Utah, Arizona, and beyond. They have tours of the fort and you go in all the rooms. It's very well done. If you're like me, you've probably seen the signs and just driven on past. However, if you have any interest in Utah or pioneer history, it is well worth a stop. For more info visit: http://www.covefort.info/
