The Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce reported that, “Although improvement has been gradual, Utah is among a handful of states leading the nation’s economic recovery.” Utah’s economy has grown 3.5 percent in the past five years, which has lead to the state’s lower than average unemployment rate. Several Utah companies are leading the effort for renewable energy resources. REDCO is among the rising energy stars, started by 2008 BYU grad, Ryan Davies. Another is Wasatch Wind, the owner of the turbines near Spanish Fork Canyon. Other cutting edge renewable energy businesses include: Raser Technologies, WhiteHorse Energy, 7Revolutions, and even Rocky Mountain Power!
